David G. Price

Price, NOAA AGO Chief of StaffMr. Price joined the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in December 2013 as the Chief of Staff for the Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO).  In this role, he supports the Director in the planning, management, and execution of AGO’s work to provide acquisition and financial assistance services throughout NOAA.  Mr. Price also serves as the Director of the Staff Services Management Division with responsibility for AGO’s budget, human resources, systems, property, records, and emergency management.

Mr. Price began his career with the Federal government as a Facility Planner and Environmental Engineer at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC –  ultimately becoming the Head of Facility Planning and the Environmental Coordinator for both NRL and the Office of Naval Research.  In 1989, he joined the Environmental Readiness Division of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N45), initially serving as program manager for a variety of environmental programs before being named head of the Shore Facilities Branch.   In July 1993, Mr. Price was selected to lead the Navy’s pollution prevention efforts, heading the newly created Pollution Prevention Branch.  In January 2001, OPNAV N45 integrated the pollution prevention and environmental compliance programs, creating the Environmental Quality Branch, and designated Mr. Price as the Branch Head.  In June 2004, Mr. Price was designated to lead the newly formed Strategic Planning, Enterprise, and Innovation Branch which focused on ensuring the adequacy of plans, policies, procedures, and resources, and the identification of innovative procedures and efficient practices.  In 2007, Mr. Price moved to the General Services Administration to become Chief of Staff in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, and later served as a special projects officer for the GSA Chief People Officer.

Mr. Price graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering.  He received a Master of Science degree in Engineering Administration from the George Washington University in 1983 and a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the United States Army War College in 2006.  Originally from Johnstown, PA, Mr. Price currently resides in Northern Virginia.  He is married with two daughters.
