Chad Wagner

Mr. Wagner is the Director of the Policy and Oversight Division (POD) of NOAA's Acquisition and Grants Office. He is responsible for the formulation of NOAA acquisition and financial assistance policy, review and dissemination of Federal and DOC policy, administration of AGO's Acquisition Management Review Program, and has direct management and oversight of the Department of Commerce Bankcard Center.

Mr. Wagner entered the federal acquisition workforce in 1995 as a Contract Specialist with the U.S. Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1997, he joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, progressing to team leader for Military and Civil Contracts Branches. There he worked on construction, Architect-Engineer, service, and supply contracts.

In 2000, he joined USDA as the Branch Chief for Contracts and Acquisitions in Kansas City, Missouri. He oversaw the acquisition of space, services, materials, and equipment required to support the mission of the Farm Service Agency.

In 2004, he joined the General Services Administration (GSA), Heartland Region as the Regional Acquisition Executive. He provided professional assistance and guidance for major GSA regional contracting operations within the Heartland Region to include Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and Public Building Service (PBS).

He joined NOAA in 2009 as the Branch Chief for Oversight and Compliance in Kansas City, Missouri. He was later reassigned as the Director of the Policy and Oversight Division.

Mr. Wagner graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas (1989) with a B.S. in Business Administration. He received a Master’s Degree in Management from Webster University, Kansas City, Missouri (2004). He was born in Fort Meade, Maryland, and currently resides in Shawnee, Kansas.
