SECTION 508 CRITERIA FOR EIT PURCHASES 2005

Beginning April 1, micropurchases of Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) acquired by the federal government must be accessible by individuals with disabilities. EIT includes, but is not limited to, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, laptops, desktop computers and telephones. Web sites available to support implementation of Section 508 include Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board's (Access Board) EIT standards at http://www.access-board.gov and the General Service Administration's training module at http://www.section508.gov.
